I used to work in the hustling Jingumae 1-Chome. Jin-ni is right up the hood, but I never really have a chance to stroll around more than Mominoki House - my old office's favorite restaurant.

Jinny is different. It's laid-back, people would slowly enjoy their day, would quietly read in local coffee shops, or would gather on the street to chat with their neighbors. It's a village full of hidden gems: niche shops, old izakaya, local cafes and restaurants in between the alleys. I like that quiet, intimate, and somewhat exotic vibe of Jinny. I picked up on cute things that I found on the street and record them with color pencil: a simple medium, but pure, soft, and honest in the depiction.

以前、活気あふれる神宮前一丁目で働いていた。神二もすぐそこなのに、仕事の合間に歩き回る機会はなかなかなくて、足を運ぶのはもっぱら、当時のオフィスのお気に入りだった「モミノキハウス」くらいだった。

でも、神二は少し違う。どこかゆったりとしていて、人々がそれぞれの時間を静かに楽しんでいる。地元のカフェで本を読む人がいたり、道端で近所の人たちが立ち話をしていたり。路地のあちこちには、個性的な小さなお店や昔ながらの居酒屋、地元のカフェやレストランがひっそりと佇んでいる。

そんな神二は、まるで小さな村のようだ。静かで、親密で、どこか異国のような空気がある。歩いていると、ふとした瞬間に「かわいい」と思うものに出会う。

私はそんな街角で見つけた小さなものたちを、色鉛筆で描き留めている。とてもシンプルな画材だけれど、だからこそ、やわらかく、素直に、目に映ったものをそのまま残せる気がしている。
