Michibiki Vol. 3: From Hands to Hands

Celebrating continuity, memory, and community.

Hello fellow walkers and art lovers—

We’re back with the third installment of Michibiki, a joint project between NININI·NI and Jinny Street Gallery.

This edition is about a quiet kind of continuity. After Tomo and Tiny moved on to new adventures, the NININI House—once scheduled for demolition—was granted more time. In that pause, Lana and Kaiki stepped in as new caretakers and gave the space a new chapter: NININI·NI (get it?).

Michibiki Vol. 3 celebrates that passing—from hands to hands—and the way places survive through care, intention, and the people who gather inside them.

  • Artists Mixer and Opening Event: Sunday, Jan 25, 2026 — from 18:00 @ NININI·NI

We’re looking for new members

Over the past year, Jinny has grown through experiments, inspiring artists, and a lot of hands-on work on the streets of Shibuya. We’re now opening the door to a new team member to help shape what comes next.

Jinny Street Gallery is volunteer-run (currently no salary). What we offer is the opportunity to be part of a meaningful independent project—running exhibitions, building community, and developing new projects under the Jinny umbrella. If you have ideas you’ve always wanted to try, Jinny can be a place to experiment and collaborate.

We’re looking for a highly motivated bilingual (Japanese + English) person who believes in the power of art and community, takes initiative, and enjoys building from the ground up.

If you’re excited by independent culture and making things happen from the ground up, email us:

hello [at] jinnystreetgallery [dot] com

Tell us a bit about yourself, your background, and why you’d like to join Jinny Street Gallery.

That’s all we have for you this time.

As always, see you around the hood,
—The Jinny Team
